HUMAN HAPPINESS
ITS NATURE & ITS ATTAINMENT
A Two-Volume "On-Line" Book
You've probably never thought much about your own happiness, yet studies show it's the most important thing most of us want from life. In this "on-line," two-volume book, I hope to introduce you to both the significant nature and possible attainment of personal happiness as it has been revealed through psychological research over the years.
The beginning volume, Volume I: The Nature of Happiness, provides a heavily documented background into the research findings regarding personal happiness. Volume II: The Attainment of Happiness, expands upon these findings to provide possible ways you, yourself, can incorporate the research in your own pursuit of happiness, by using the widely-cited, "Fourteen Fundamentals Program."
These volumes are planned to be continually updated as new research refines the conclusions presented herein. Currently, you will be reading the latest edition listed below:
1987 Edition
1990 Edition
1994 Edition
2000 Edition
A note on references: due to the substantive referencing in these Volumes, most references in these Volumes follow the more antiquated "Harvard-style" of numerical reference to save textual space. As opposed to the modern, specific enumeration of each citing by author(s) and date, the older Harvard-style simply enumerates each reference by a number, matched in a numerical bibliography,
Because of the substantive referencing in these Volumes, this more traditional Harvard "numbering" system seemed more appropriate -- both because these Volumes are more intended for the "average" reader and because the referencing is so voluminous (as to double the pages needed to reference the Volumes in a contemporary format).
References in these Volumes, therefore, appear as series of one (or more) number(s) which correspond to full references in the Numerical Bibliography. These same sources are also arranged in an Alphabetical Bibliography where citings (along with their reference number) are presented.
